Diet: seeds and berries, insects and worms, mice, small reptiles, amphibians, and small birds

- nests are built by both parents
- unique courtship displayed by running, jumping, and dancing
- at 10 months old offspring leaves parents
- at 2 years old young cranes begins to search for mates
